Exdyl Cough Linctus cotnains triprolidine HCl, and codeine phosphate which is a combination of an antihistamine, an indirect sympathomimetic, and a narcotic antitussive (anti-cough), indicated for temporary relief of coughs and upper respiratory symptoms, including nasal congestion, associated with allergy or the common cold.
Precautions
Before using Codeine Phosphate / Triprolidine Hcl, inform your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert. - Acute pancreatitis

Codeine Phosphate Linctus is a pain relieving medicine. It helps to relieve moderate to severe pain. It is also used for treatment of dry cough. It provides temporary relief from the cough or similar upper respiratory symptoms associated with allergy or common cold.
Codeine Phosphate Linctus is only prescribed to individuals who are at least 18 years of age or above. It may be habit forming and should be taken only as directed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. In general, you should try to use the smallest amount necessary to control your symptoms, for the shortest possible time. You should take this medicine regularly while you need it. Try not to miss doses as this will make the medicine less effective.
Some common side effects of this medicine include drowsiness, lightheadedness, dizziness, sedation, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, and sweating. If any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing the symptoms.
